Ziye Shipiao Yixing Zisha Teapot
This is a classic Ziye Shipiao Yixing Zisha Teapot, one of the most representative iconic styles among Yixing Zisha teapots. Created by Qu Yingshao, a scholar of the Qing Dynasty, it has remained beloved by tea enthusiasts for centuries, boasting both exceptional aesthetic and practical value.
The teapot features a trapezoidal body that is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top, providing ample space for tea leaves to unfurl. This allows the nutrients in the tea leaves to release more effectively, preventing the tea from being too strong in the first few infusions and too weak in later ones. Additionally, the air pressure and temperature inside the teapot reduce the risk of spilling when pouring water and serving tea, ensuring each cup has a consistent concentration.
Crafting the Ziye Shipiao Zisha Teapot is extremely challenging, mainly due to its wide base. During the firing process, the base tends to shrink significantly, which can cause the body to deform. Therefore, only about 3 flawless Ziye Shipiao Zisha Teapots can be produced from 10 fired pieces.
