Introduction to Zhuni Clay
Zhuni clay is a rare variety of Yixing zisha clay. Tea ware fired from this clay typically features a vibrant vermilion or orange red hue, which is mainly determined by the varying mineral ratios in the clay.
Compared to regular zisha clay, zhuni clay offers superior breathability and adsorption. It retains the temperature of tea infusion and absorbs unwanted impurities from the tea, resulting in a purer, more concentrated aroma. It is particularly well suited for brewing oolong tea, black tea and other similar varieties.
With prolonged use, a smooth, lustrous patina forms on the surface of zhuni tea ware, deepening its red hue and leaving a subtle lingering tea aroma.
