All Ru kiln ceramic gaiwans are fired at high temperatures. They do not absorb or transfer flavors, so you can use them to brew different kinds of tea.
The blue and white interlocking lotus pattern on the gaiwan is hand-painted by ceramic artisans. After high-temperature firing, the pattern fuses with the glaze surface and will not fade or wear even with long-term use.
