About Zhuni Clay
Zhuni is an exceptionally precious type of Yixing Zisha clay, mined from Xiaomei Kiln in Yixing. As shown in the product images, Zhuni clay has a subtly uneven surface. With long-term and regular use, it will gradually turn warm, mellow and lustrous. This is attributed to the unique physical structure of teapots made from Zhuni. During the tea brewing process, the teapot absorbs a small amount of tea liquor, and a thin protective layer will form on the surface of the teapot with extended use, which helps maintain the color and rich flavor of the tea leaves.
In addition, Zhuni is one of the most difficult pottery clays to fire. It is highly prone to cracking during the firing process, and only seasoned master craftsmen with rich experience can precisely control the firing temperature to ensure the quality of the finished products.
