Follow these steps to get your tea pet to spray water:

Pour boiling water over the tea pet. This step uses the principle of thermal expansion and contraction to expel the air inside the tea pet.
Immediately submerge the tea pet completely in cold water afterward, and let it soak undisturbed for 5 to 10 minutes.
Remove the tea pet and pour boiling water over it again—your tea pet will now spray water.
